Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival in Colombo. The Jibal team will meet you at arrivals in Colombo. We leave the coast behind for the misty peaks of Ella. After checking into the hotel, we’ll head into town for a briefing and a group dinner. Experience the energy of Ella as we prep for the days ahead.

Little Adam’s Peak to Nine Arch We start with a sunrise trek to Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views of the tea country. After the hike, we turn up the adrenaline with a zip-line over the jungle canopy. We end the afternoon at the iconic Nine Arch Bridge to watch the trains pass through the valley. Then head back to Ella to explore the town.

Scenic Rails & Spice Masterclass We board one of the world’s most beautiful train routes, winding through emerald tea estates and mountain tunnels. In the afternoon, we go hands-on with a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class to master local spices.

Ella to the Southern Coast We descend from the mountains toward the Indian Ocean. En route, we stop at the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home to see rescued Elephant calves being rehabilitated for the wild. We finish the day in Dickwella, trading the mountain breeze for salt air.

Surfing Hirikitiya Time to hit the water. We head to Hirikitiya, the surf capital of the south, for professional surfing lesson. Whether it’s your first time on a board or you’re looking to sharpen your skills, the morning is spent chasing sets in the turquoise blue. We explore the town of Hirikitiya and wrap the day with sunset yoga on the beach.

Kayaking & Colonial History Today we swap the surfboards for kayaks, navigating the silent, winding mangrove waterways by kayak. In the afternoon, we explore the stone ramparts of Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site full of grit and history.

Coastal Cruising & Farewell A final day to choose your pace. Opt for a private boat excursion to swim in the deep blue or relax on the golden sands of Dickwella. In the evening, the tribe gathers for a farewell dinner.

Farewell Sri Lanka One last breakfast by the ocean before we transfer back to Colombo for your flight. You’re heading home with salt in your hair, new friends, and the transformation that only comes from leaving your comfort zone.
