Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu. A Jibal representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel in the heart of the city. Settle in and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. In the evening, we gather for dinner, a briefing & gear check to ensure everyone is ready!

Leaving the chaos of Kathmandu behind. A rugged 4x4 drive takes us deep into the Budhi Gandaki valley, where the pavement ends and the adventure truly begins. We arrive at Machha Khola (930m), a vibrant riverside village, where we settle into our teahouse and gear up for the trekking days ahead.

We cross the first of many suspension bridges. We enter the Manaslu Conservation Area, trekking through sub-tropical forests to the stone-paved streets of Jagat, (1,410m), a beautifully paved flagstone village and the official entry checkpoint for the restricted Manaslu region.

We follow the river today and soak in the beauty. We navigate deep gorges and bamboo forests, crossing the Budhi Gandaki as the valley begins to narrow and the air turns crisp. After crossing the river, we ascend through the forest to reach the small, tranquil settlement of Deng (1,800m).

Today we take on a steep climb rewards you with your first glimpses of the high peaks. The landscape shifts—mani walls and prayer flags signal our entry to the village of Ghap, crossing the river once more before a sharp, final ascent brings us to Namrung (2,660m

We wake up to the sight of Manaslu’s twin peaks. We trek to Lho, a village situated near a massive monastery and the most dramatic sunset views on the circuit. As we approach the village of Lho (3,180m), the iconic, twin-peaked summit of Mount Manaslu (8,163m) explodes into view, dominating the skyline right above the local monastery.

Reach the foot of the "Mountain of the Spirit." Samagaon is our high-altitude sanctuary, a sprawling stone village where tradition has remained unchanged for centuries. This day brings us to the wide, glacier-carved valley floor of Samagaon (3,530m), the cultural heart of the Manaslu region.

Acclimatization is the secret to the success. Today we push our limits with a climb to Manaslu Base Camp 4,800m. After which we descend back down to Samagon.

A short, sharp trek to Samdo, the last proper village before the pass. You’re now in the high alpine zone, surrounded by yaks and the silence of the giants. Samdo (3,860m), is a remote settlement located just a few kilometers from the Tibetan border.

Ascend to Dharamsala. This is the staging ground. Tonight, we sleep at 4,460m, preparing our minds and bodies for the push to the Larkya Glacier. This day ends at Dharamsala / Larkya Phedi (4,460m)

This is it the big day! Today we challenge ourselves as we conquer the 5,160m pass. At the prayer-flag-strewn summit, the world opens up and we soak in the the view. After celebrating the summit, we begin our descent down to the beautiful, wide glacier valley of Bimthang (3,720m)

Today we trade the glaciers for the rhododendron flowers. A long, beautiful descent through pristine wilderness brings us to Dharapani, where our circuit connects with the Annapurna trail (1,860m)

We board the jeeps for the winding drive back to Kathmandu. As we watch the Himalayas recede in the rearview mirror, knowing you’re returning with new experiences and new memories.

We spend our final morning in Kathmandu shopping for souvenirs and exploring the city before heading to the airport. Taking with you the mountains and the new friends you've made.
