Experience Socotra

Touch down on alien shores. Meet your Jibal Adventures crew at Socotra airport before sweeping east toward the legendary white sand dunes of Arher. Here, massive dunes pour off sheer limestone cliffs directly into the turquoise Arabian Sea. Spend your afternoon sandboarding down towering crests, swimming in pristine coastal waters, and rinsing off under natural freshwater springs before dining under a blanket of wilderness stars at our beachside camp.

Journey into the mountain's heart. Start where the Arabian Sea meets the Indian Ocean at Ras Arsel before setting off on a hike up the slopes of Mount Rosh. Our destination is Hoq Cave, an expansive subterranean masterpiece packed with dramatic stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient history. After exploring its vast caverns, we head back down to relax along the coast and soak in the raw, untouched beauty of Socotra's eastern cape.

Infinity pools and ancient flora. Trek into the protected highlands of Homhil, a living sanctuary of Socotra’s legendary endemic flora, including Frankincense, Desert Roses, and iconic Dragon’s Blood trees. Take a dip in Homhil's natural cliffside infinity pool overlooking the Arabian Sea far below. Later, we head down to the vibrant Dihammri Marine Reserve to snorkel alongside thriving coral reefs and colorful marine life before setting up camp along the shore.

From freshwater wadis to the Indian Ocean. Trek into the dramatic gorge of Wadi Kelisan for an unforgettable swim in its deep, crystal-clear emerald pools. After cooling off, we off-road south through rugged mountain valleys until the white windswept dunes of Zahek rise up to meet the Indian Ocean. End the day walking barefoot along the sprawling, untouched beaches of Aomak for a night of oceanfront camping.

Step into an ancient world. Explore the dramatic limestone formations of Digub Cave before ascending to the famous Diksam Plateau. Marvel at panoramic vistas over the sheer drop of Daerhu Canyon, then descend into the canyon for an easygoing hike and a swim in freshwater streams. We cap off the day by climbing into Firmhen Forest—the highest concentration of ancient, umbrella-shaped Dragon's Blood trees on Earth—where we set up camp deep beneath their canopy.

Coastal magic at the island's edge. Stop by a local conservation nursery to see young Dragon’s Blood trees being cultivated before journeying west to the coastal town of Qalansiyah. Take in stunning overhead views of Detwah Lagoon—a striking marine paradise of swirling white sand bars and shallow, crystal-clear water. Spend the afternoon exploring the lagoon, sunbathing on empty shores, and settling into our campsite right on the water's edge.

Dolphins, hidden coves, and untouched sands. Board traditional boats at dawn to navigate the wild western cliffs of Socotra, where pods of spinner dolphins regularly play alongside the hull. Arrive at Shoab Beach, a pristine, white-sand paradise accessible almost entirely by sea. After swimming in its calm, turquoise waters and connecting with local island legends, we return to the mainland and head east for our final night together along Delisha Beach.

Our final day in island paradise. Enjoy a final island breakfast before taking a tour through the vibrant local market in Hadibo to pick up authentic frankincense, dragon's blood resin, and handcrafted souvenirs. Afterward, transfer to Socotra Airport carrying memories, stories, and connections from one of the most exotic frontiers on Earth.
